Resumo

Searching for methods used to process recyclable materials, the grinding process was chosen for the development of a prototype of a shredder equipment. Based on some concepts of product development, a method was created in engineering in a more technical view, separated into four stages, informational design, preliminary design, conceptual design and detailed design. Because it is the development of a prototype, the present work applies until the preliminary design stage. Based on the concepts of PDP, it was possible to develop a product from its conception to the prototyping process, reaching the objective expected for the present work, the validation of the mechanism. Through conventional and unconventional machining methods, it was possible to start the manufacture of a prototype of a high fidelity crusher, representing a functional model of the product, allowing the validation of the grinding mechanism, together with the design and configuration of the blades. Using the high fidelity prototype, it was also possible to identify critical points and improvements to be made, seeking the best version for a grinding equipment.
